Biography Highlight
Yang Guoping, male, Han nationality, is a native of Zhongxiang, Hubei province. He was born in 1934, joined the PLA in 1950 and joined the CPC in 1956. Yang held posts in the Military Operation Department of the Shenyang Military Region throughout the 1980s. Subsequently, he held posts in the Jinan Military Region and, in 1996, he became commander of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force. Yang was the first armed police officer to win the promotion to general.
